Accountancy Practice Semi Senior Accountant

This accountancy practice based in York is small fast-growing and are seeking a semi-senior accountant to join their busy team. They would consider a contractor to potential appointment. The successful candidate will have a background working in a practice environment and have experience in:

Working on a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

• Speaking with clients to resolve queries.

Primary responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assisting in the Completion of personal tax and corporation tax returns.
• Assisting in the Completion of client VAT returns.
• Assisting in the Completion of client payrolls.
• Plus, other duties consistent with the grade as directed. 

Candidate Profile

• The candidate will have experience in preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• The candidate will have some experience of completing personal tax and corporation tax returns along with completing client VAT returns.
• The candidate will have some experience in completing client’s payroll.
• Experience of using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero along with Receipt Bank would also be an advantage.
• Experience of using TaxCalc or a similar product would also be an advantage.
• Strong Excel skills and proficient IT skills including the ability of using Microsoft Word & Outlook.
