Technical Accounting Manager / Group Finance Business Partner
Our client is a multi-billion euro, international corporate group in the energy sector. Reporting to the Head of Accounting & Reporting and working within Group Finance, this senior manager role is responsible for the provision of technical accounting support to Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Regional Finance and the wider business, and to assist in the preparation of the Group consolidation and of all statutory accounts (Group and subsidiaries), including:
- Understand and assess the implications of new or proposed changes to accounting standards and its impact on Group Accounting Policies.
- Assess the accounting requirements for new contracts and amendments to existing contracts and update accounting policies if appropriate.
- Assist with preparation and review of the half yearly and annual impairment assessments.
The ideal profile is an ACA qualified accountant with 5 years' post-qualified experience in a large corporate group environment - oil & gas / energy or similar would be advantageous. You must be adept at finding solutions to complex matters in a specialist industry sector.
Extensive experience of IFRS, including IFRS 15 is a requirement for this role.
This is a hands-on, stand alone role where you will be the Technical Accounting specialist advising group finance and senior management on all standards and requirements. You will be a key business partner, assessing the impact on new contracts / amendments.
You will have advanced excel and strong ERP systems experience (SAP).
