A fast growing owner managed SME are looking for a hands on Qualified Accountant to take on an exciting role as their new Financial Controller. The role is based in their Doncaster HQ, reporting into a Finance Director who is keen to set a succession plan in place.
The business have experienced a boom in contract wins off the back of the last year, and are well placed to take advantage of the growing confidence in the sector they supply. With realistic plans for growth including expansion of the current site - along with potential future acquisitions, this is a potentially exciting opportunity for an up and coming candidate who wants to progress towards a FD position.
You will manage a small team, including a Management Accountant and 3 ledger clerks. Despite the reliability and quality of the team, you will need to be hands on with the accounts and financial reporting - and there is plenty of scope to add new and improve existing procedures and processes. Cash flow forecasting will be your responsibility and as you would expect - cash is king. Working with the Finance Director, you will be responsible for producing budgets and then the analysis and reforecasts throughout the year based on the variance analysis.
The business are in the infancy of improving the benefits packages and this should improve over the next 12-24 months. The business is looking to become an employer of choice in the region and again, a new member of the Senior Management Team will play a role in this.
