The company

This growing and friendly Accountancy Practice, located in Huddersfield, which takes great pride in providing a quality of service with a personal touch for their extensive client base, is now in need of a Qualified Practice Accountant.

Handling the accounts of start-ups, right through to organisations turning over in excess of £10 million per annum, the organisation has gone through significant and sustained growth over the last twelve months

Due to expansion, they are seeking an Accountant to join their growing and friendly accountancy practice, to embark on their unique Leadership Development Programme to assist in the management of workloads, and management of less experienced staff.

On successful completion of the Leadership Development Programme, the successful candidate will not only be able to achieve promotion, as well as a significant pay increase, but they will also have the option to acquire shares in the practice.

The job

The key duties of this role will include:

  • Providing financial advice.
  • Management of financial systems and budgets.
  • Undertaking financial audits.
  • Complete VAT Returns.
  • Advising on tax planning.
  • Performing tests to check financial information and systems.
  • Maintaining records, preparing accounts and management information.
  • Advising on business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions.
  • Advising clients on areas of business improvement, or dealing with insolvency.
  • Managing junior colleagues and trainees.

The Person

To be considered for this opportunity you MUST:

  • Possess a minimum of AAT4 or degree level qualified.
  • Hold experience of preparing accounts for limited companies.
  • Have prior experience of preparing personal tax returns.
  • Possess a strong working knowledgeable of SAGE and XERO.
  • Be someone that is aspiring to make a move into leadership.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and must be comfortable forming and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Have strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with a good attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate excellent project management skills and a strong ability to prioritise.
