Head of Finance

Sharp Consultancy are currently working on a retained basis for a highly reputable specialist based in the Chesterfield area who are looking for a Head of Finance to oversee the group finance function.

Our client, a bespoke specialist in their industry have recently restructured the Group Finance function to create this role, the most senior role within finance outside of the Group FD and a key appointment as they develop a stronger function with improved depth to help the business as it begins the next stage of a significant growth strategy.

You will be reporting directly into the Group FD with a clear directive to lead and manage the whole of the Group Finance function and just as importantly lead the technical behaviours and reporting of the business.

Other key responsibilities will include:
*To lead the head office finance team
*To set finance policies for the Group and ensure that they are adhered to
*To lead the financial accounting and reporting activities across the Group and to ensure they are carried out efficiently and effectively
*Act as a technical expert for the divisional finance teams
*To ensure effective financial controls are in operation throughout the Group
*To manage the Group's relationships with key external stakeholders including auditors, bankers, tax advisors and currency brokers

You must be a qualified accountant and have in-depth relevant IFRS experience. Any experience within a listed organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.

You could be moving straight from a role within the Accountancy Profession or already be in Industry post profession. The essential are a strong level of technical experience and significant strengths around people management and stakeholder leadership.
