SF Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic, manufacturing business based in Coleshill. A newly created Contract Accountant position is currently being recruited, reporting into senior leadership to aid key decisions to drive efficiencies, profitability and maximise cash flows. This is a unique opportunity to gain commercial experience within a fast moving, private equity backed company. The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) and have previous contract accounting experience.

Key duties:

- Co-ordinate and prepare the monthly management accounting and reporting for Tooling, Engineering and NPI, R&D and Project teams, ensuring that they are
robust, complete, accurate, timely and comparable. Identify and suggest improvements to Group Reporting.
- Consolidation Assist in the Group Consolidation process
- Ensure that all costs are approved per Group authority matrix and PO's properly raised to ensure completeness.
- Work with VP Engineering and VP commercial to produce budgets and forecasts aligned to Group timetable.
- Produce Monthly and Weekly Flash reports to provide timeliness and visibility in respect of current and expected monthly performance, including appropriate commentary and recovery
plans.
- Understanding of labour and overhead rate calculations, review manufacturing variances, review efficiency variances, review Purchase Price Variance (PPV), review Excess and
Obsolete (E&O) reserves, monitor / review capitalised variances, review labour / overhead variances
- Balance Sheet / Income Statement Reconciliations - Completion of accurate and detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations of all key items that relate to the role.
- Capital Appropriation Process - Implement and maintain a capital appropriation process for Group and ensure that sites record capital spend in a timely manner.
- Fixed Assets Financing - Support application of HP financing for all large capital spend projects and ensure accurate recording of transactions and in site ledgers.
- Support - Internal and external audits, Fixed Asset stock take, internal controls processes.
- Revenue Growth - Support commercial bid process and ensure robust processes to accurately documented material costs, selling and logistic expenses plus added value processing and ensure
recovered in selling price with an acceptable level of contribution / gross margin.
- Revenue Growth - produce 5-year sales plans by platform and product to support sites capacity planning.
- Working Capital - Monitor and control tooling and NPI inventory levels to ensure accurate forecasting of cash and profit. Support the transaction team resolving overdue debt and LOC issues.
Ensure accurate recording of costs and accruals reflect liabilities accurately.
- Key Performance Indicators - ensure that the financial impact of key drivers is understood, and robust tracking is in place to understand variances to plan and address any anticipated shortfalls in
performance. Attend business Sales & Operations Planning meetings to pre-empt order load / revenue gaps which will require cost reductions to be made.
- design / apply business processes and internal controls. Participate in external / internal audits and control and risk self-assessment processes.
