Group Financial Controller

Partner Financial are working with a market leading distribution business.

They are looking for a top ten practice trained, Group Financial Controller with exceptional technical expertise in a global, multinational business.

The duration is for 6 months and the candidate must be able to start immediately.

The Group Financial Controller Accountant will play a key role in the technical reporting requirements of the group as well as taking the lead in two important projects. They will be adept at delivering complex accounting statements and reviewing the reporting packs. They will also be comfortable with the whole Month End process, including maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and performing balance sheet reconciliations.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for financial accounting and reporting across the UK legal entity/Business Units for both statutory and Group reporting (IFRS).
• Responsible for 4 subsidiary companies.
• Responsible for tax compliance (direct and indirect) regulations in the UK including preparation of VAT returns, tax computations etc.
• Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee the European Intercompany reconciliations and matrix.
• Maintain/oversee the Fixed Asset register for UK entities.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant (ACA) from a top ten practice.
• Have strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Have a good working knowledge of SOX controls.
• Have demonstrable experience of working in a global, multinational company and Head Office operations
• Have a natural ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
• Be a self-starter and work independently.
• Have an inquisitive mind-set where you continuously seek process improvement.
