Senior Credit Controller

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting a Credit Controller on behalf of a well-established and growing business in Bury.

The role will cover all aspects of Credit Control, reporting into the Financial Controller. You will be aiming to reduce aged debt while building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. There will be occasional project work and opportunities to develop in the role.

Duties

• Timely collection of outstanding debt from customers, aiming to hit targets for collection set in the monthly AR meeting
• Posting and allocating of cash, debit notes and discounts on the ledger and ensuring accounts are reconciled correctly
• Processing new account applications and ensuring all signed agreements are in place before opening of accounts on the system
• Processing credit requests and updating records
• Work closely with our credit insurers to ensure that appropriate cover is in place, we have reduced risk where possible and we review/renew credit limits regularly.
• Credit checking/releasing sales orders
• Assisting with sales month end procedures, including reporting on debtors, sales and returns.
• Sending Invoices, Credits and Discounts to HSBC
• Balancing and keeping the invoice discounting reconciliations up to date
• General ad-hoc duties to assist and cover the finance team and the wider business.

 Person requirement

• Previous experience in a Credit Control role
• Experience using JDE accounting system is preferred
• Strong analytical and excel skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data. Vlookups, sumif and pivot tables are preferred
• Able to prioritise workload and demonstrate flexibility toward deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Persistence and tenacity, assertiveness without being aggressive, ability to build relationships with clients
• Confident and independent with a down to earth can-do approach
