My client is a South London based standalone specialist secondary academy, looking to recruit a School Business Manager to become a pivotal member of the senior leadership team.
A member of the SLT, the successful applicant will be responsible for the line management of the school’s small support staff and will manage the school’s business, financial, HR, estate management and administrative functions. You’ll ensure that all current systems, processes and procedures remain under constant review to provide first class insight to the SLT.
This role will be equally operational as it will be strategic; one the one hand, you’ll enjoy the broad day to day remit this position offers, working closely with all internal departments. On the other hand, your commercial viewpoint will be sought taking a lead role as a professional ‘sounding board’ on medium- and long-term school projects and improvements.
Applications are sought from candidates who can demonstrate similar experience of business management within a school environment. Undoubtedly, you’ll draw on your organisational and prioritisation skills, equally adapt at managing a school budget as you might be looking at best value from service contracts or managing premises and maintenance schedules. CSBM or DSBM qualifications, or relevant formal studies would support your application, but relevant experience is deemed most important.
