Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Accountant for a well-established manufacturing business based in York. This is a Temporary contract with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate!
This is a brand new role created to provide much needed business partnering to the operations team within a growing SME. The Operations Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will work closely with both the Finance and Operations teams.
Main responsibilities of the role:
*Identification and reporting of cost-saving and profit improvement initiatives in the operations environment (continuous improvement)
*Weekly production of the Production Financials pack and subsequent review of KPIs with Production Management team
*Review the reconciliation of the weekly payroll costs into the General Ledger and Production Financials
*Provide financial support to the Production & Maintenance department with regards to Capex requests and monitoring monthly overhead expenditure
*Completion of full narrative on Production performance in the Month End Accounts Pack
*Lead the annual Calculation & Maintenance of Production Standard Labour Costs
*Responsible for quarterly forecasts and annual budget - Operations
*Provide financial support for projects as and when required
To be successful for this role you MUST have the following skills and attributes:-
*Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
*Must have an accounting background and experience within the manufacturing sector
*Comfortable dealing with stakeholders within a production environment
*Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels
*A working knowledge of ERP Systems (particularly Sage 200)
*An ability to build and manage robust performance monitoring and reporting systems
*Ability to see tasks and projects through to completion
*Staff management experience or the aspiration to work up to managing staff within a department
