Accounts Payable Manager

Kent

£40k - £45k

18 month contract

My client, a Chemical company, are looking for a AP Manager for 18 months to cover maternity.

Duties include:

  • Manage Accounts Payable team, ensuring service level meets all KPI's

  • Responsible and managing processing of supplier invoices and obtaining necessary approvals. Supplier statement reconciliations as appropriate.
  • Responsible and managing payment run approvals, ensuring payments are made in accordance with supplier payment terms and in compliance with the necessary controls and authorisations
  • Knowledgeable on BACS payments, SAP2Bank interfaces and PGP keys (secure file transmissions) and internet banking payment systems
  • Responsible and managing of T&E processing and payments, ensuring compliance with T&E policies
  • Managing bank administrators amongst the team and payment initiators and approvers
  • Responsible for delivery of process automisation and standardisation projects and initiatives
  • Update, implement and maintain Accounts Payable processes and manuals
  • Resolve all queries, identifying root causes, proposing and implementing the necessary changes to prevent recurring issues
  • Provide Cash Management Analyst with forecast of payables position of each legal entity
  • Develop and publish payment statistics, KPI and other metrics
  • Ad hoc projects as required

Requirements:

  • Experience of high volume invoice processing and automated approval workflow
  • Experience managing an AP team
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure with good time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem solver who applies novel techniques to solve issues; challenges long hold beliefs when necessary
  • Software & computer skills: experience with SAP is desirable
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office proficient user
  • Calm and confident manner
  • Strong communication skills; uses constructive language orally and in writing
  • Reliable Team player with, who can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Motivated to excel and perform the role to the best of their ability
  • Confidence to suggest new ideas and listen to customers' needs
