This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with strong technical skills to join a well established business in the Bristol area. This is a contract that can be up to 6 months in length and my client can accommodate remote working for the full duration of this assignment

Description
This is a key role in transitioning the group to IFRS and will include rolling out new accounting policies and setting up new processes. This is a pivotal role in preparing full IFRS financial statements and selected notes at year end as well as assisting the month end close and monthly board report production. The key responsibilities are:
- Becoming the key technical specialist on certain areas of IFRS such as IFRS 9 (financial instruments), IFRS 15 (revenue) and IFRS 16 (leases)
- Taking charge of certain deliverables during the year end process and explaining these to auditors
- Production of entire sections of the IFRS consolidated group accounts including developing new processes for collating data needed
- Production of new accounting papers for new IFRS standards or changes in existing standards
- Developing IFRS accounting year end and interim papers from inception to Board approval
- Supporting the month end consolidation process, calculating and posting consolidation entries
- Training the wider Finance team on aspects of IFRS accounting
Profile
The successful candidate for this role will possess the following:
- A full and recognised accountancy qualification with at least 2 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- A strong technical skillset
- Experience of applying IFRS in the real world
- Experience of reporting in a PLC environment inhouse or as an external auditor
- Experience of working on multi currency group consolidations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to delivery results quickly
