They’re currently looking for a Project Accountant to join them on a permanent, full time basis, working 35 hours per week.

This exciting new role has been created to add much-needed capacity to the Finance Team on project accounting. It is not a typical ‘accountant’ position and will offer the successful candidate the chance to open doors and make a real impression within the team.

The Role

As a Project Accountant, you will provide financial support and guidance to large grant-funded programmes, as well as supporting the financial management of some consultancy projects.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working alongside staff from both finance and non-finance operations, you will:

- Support Project Managers with budget reforecasts, cost recovery and income recognition calculations
- Prepare financial client/donor reports
- Review and interpret financial information and prepare monthly reports
- Undertake the financial assessment of potential, and reassessments of existing partners
- Ensure that client/donor compliance requirements are met in financial records and reporting
- Act as a key point of contact for auditors and assist in providing all information required
- Ensure full compliance with financial policies and processes

About You

To join our client as a Project Accountant, you will need:

- To be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- At least two years’ experience in a similar project role
- Previous experience of income recognition and full cost recovery
- The proven ability to develop budgets and forecasting expenditure
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- A degree in finance, accounting, economic studies (or similar) or equivalent relevant
experience

Experience of donor-funded programmes (ideally multi-donor) would be advantageous, as would an understanding of preparing donor finance reports.

Other organisations may call this role Accountant, Part-Qualified Accountant, Management Accountant, Charity Accountant, or Programme Accountant.
