Head of Financial Accounting

Gleeson Finance are working in an exclusive partnership with this large SME in Warwickshire, to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will lead a team of 3 and be responsible for the technical financial accounting side of the business, including statutory and tax accounting, fixed assets, stock, prepayments, balance sheet control and reporting.

You will be a key member of the Senior Finance team, providing data and analysis to help shape strategy and aid decision-making. Key duties include month end/quarterly reporting of balance sheet and cash flow, group consolidation, cost accounting, intercompany reconciliation as well as involvement in budgets and forecasts. You will oversee the production of VAT returns, mentoring and developing a team of 3, with 2 indirect reports.

In order to be considered, you will have a controlled, analytical and methodical approach to tasks, with excellent communication skills and be able to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate/advanced level. you will ideally be practice trained and fully qualified ACA or ACCA.

You will be confident in challenging methods and systems to ensure best practices and methods are followed, as well as being the finance lead for projects. You will have experience of preparing Tax Computations and Statutory Accounts, with up to date technical knowledge of all ranges of accounting and tax matters.
