Graduate Trainee Management Accountant | Leeds | £20,000 - £24,000 + full study support

The Opportunity

Superb opportunity for an Accountancy and Finance graduate (or for someone who is approaching completion of AAT).

Fast-paced, rapidly expanding group based in West Yorkshire that has delivered double digit growth for the past 5 years without exception.

You will report directly to the Financial Controller and enjoy a high degree of valuable variety.

The role would be best suited for someone looking to build their career within management accounting.  The group will offer study support and you will ideally be looking to complete CIMA or ACCA.

You will work closely with the ambitious FC and Finance Director from the outset and have chance to develop firm practical accounting skills alongside CIMA / ACCA.

You’ll be responsible for a wide remit which will expand & develop as your knowledge grows.  The initial duties will include:  Assisting the management accounts prep and month end close, journals, cashbook reconciliations, ledgers, bank rec, VAT returns etc.

The FC is looking for someone with bags of enthusiasm and real keenness to learn and develop.  You will ideally have gained a firm baseline of core accounting skills (either through a placement year or in your current role).  Experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, accruals & prepayments and assisting with month end would is required.

This will give you an excellent platform to progress on from and you will benefit from supportive mentors who will provide guidance and encouragement to become qualified.

You will need:

  • An accountancy and finance degree or AAT.
  • A desire to complete CIMA or ACCA.
  • A firm foundation of core accounting skills.
  • A naturally confident approach to picking up new tasks and solving problems.
  • Excellent communication / interpersonal skills- confidence when speaking to non finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent Excel skills. 
  • Ambition and drive.
