Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper - Otley
Are you looking for a varied, hands on accounts role with a well established and profitable local business in Otley?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper to join a long established and highly reputable, business based close to Otley. The offices are easily commutable from Horsforth, Guiseley, Yeadon and Ilkley and Harrogate.
This person will report directly to the MD, and oversee all the day to day accounting function for the business. The role is varied and hands on working with an SME environment, so would be ideally suited to someone who has experience working in small businesses in all round accounts role. It is also assisted by an accounts administrator, that this person will supervise.
Working on Xero, some of the key duties of this role will include:
- Management of a small accounts team
- Preparation of year end accounts and liaising with the external accountants
- Supplier payments
- Daily Banking
- Daily and weekly reporting
- Managing the purchase ledger
- Managing the nominal ledger
- Preparation of the management accounts
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a similar, varied accounting role, ideally within an SME - Essential
- Have previous experience of Xero - Desirable
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders - Essential
- Have previous staff management experience - Desirable
