Leading role within the Group's Finance team, being the go-to person for all things financial associated with various broking entities.

Description

  • Lead the preparation of Group monthly management accounts and submit to Group in a timely manner
  • Ensure those accounts are prepared in accordance with current accounting standards and group policy
  • Produce appropriate variance analysis covering forecasts and budgets
  • Lead the business heads in the preparation of annual budgeting and ad-hoc forecasting
  • Ensure all plans are underpinned by the appropriate drivers of performance
  • Sit on the Finance Executive representing the broking businesses
  • Attend and contribute to the key broking meeting e. pricing / broking exec and monthly results
  • Management of the relationship with the key broking personnel ensuring they receive the necessary support
  • Liaise as required with the Group Head of Transactional services to ensure the broking SLAs are being met
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller to adopt & collaborate best practise and maintain consistency of reporting
  • Wok with the CFO to develop improved MI across the broking businesses
  • Work with the Head of MI/BI to deliver best in class reporting on the respective broking products
  • Manage and develop the direct team of 4 people
  • Ensure robustness and adherence to group policies regarding on-boarding of new insurers
  • Be the key point of contact for all capital projects ensuring the projects are sound with the necessary business cases prepared
  • Management of bad debt
  • Support and approve new market initiatives

Profile

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Must have Industry experience working in the insurance / brokerage sectors
  • Proven experience of financial statement production
  • Ability to adapt to change as the business grows, maintaining a positive, driven and resilient approach
  • Excellent excel and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate well at all levels of stakeholder, both internally and externally
  • Proactively improve customer service with lines of communication outside of the Finance team in the business
  • Experience in the use of and development of financial modelling systems and reporting packages
  • Develop and take a proactive approach to own development a team
  • Ability to demonstrate drive & resilience
  • Proficient in prioritisation of own workload, managing multiple and conflicting priorities and providing regular updates
  • Possess necessary gravitas and resilience to challenge and discuss key issues with senior staff
  • Lateral thinker to identify new or untried solutions leading to business benefits
  • Identify relevant information and evaluates the issues to make sound decisions in highly complex or sensitive situations
  • Demonstrable eagerness and ability to drive or help drive change
