Parkinson Lee Executive Search are the retained partner to Tenet in the appointment of a Group FD.
Employing around 280 people, and with a turnover of circa £160 Million, Tenet is the fourth largest independent investment advisor support network in the UK, and the largest UK Whole of Market Operator.
The business has gone through a period of significant re-organisation and alignment over the last 18 months and now operates across three services lines.
Tenet Network Services (TNS) supports a network of approximately 1250 advisors across the UK. In addition, Tenet Compliance Services (TCS) provides services to c directly authorised firms. Lastly, Tenet & You (T&Y) is a financial advisory business with employed advisors with approximately £600m assets under management.
Tenet have a highly engaged, experienced & successful leadership team in place and a clearly defined strategy which is currently being executed. The business is poised for significant investment and substantial exponential growth both organically, and via acquisition, over the next 3-5 years.
The current Group Finance Director is emigrating overseas which means an opportunity now exists for a new Group Finance Director to join the board.
Reporting to and working closely with the CEO and wider executive team, you will contribute to the creation of a sound and appropriate corporate culture whilst also contributing to the successful delivery of planned results, both operationally and financially.
Leading a team of 42 across Finance and IT, you will deliver effective strategic direction and operational efficiency in relation to:
- Group strategic plan
- Corporate Development
- Shareholder and Stakeholder relations
- Achievement of financial and operational plans
Key accountabilities will include:
- Responsibility for the firm's performance of its obligations under the FCA's Senior Managers Regime
- Overall responsibility for the firm's compliance to financial standards
- Group strategy and implementation
- Business Continuity Planning
- Corporate Planning / Development
- Financial Planning and Performance of the Group
- Financial reporting and statutory accounting for the Group
- Regulatory capital reporting
- IT Strategy & Cyber Security oversight
- Member support and payment services oversight
- Effective management and oversight of Support Functions
- Management of liquidity position
- Taxation calculation and payment
- Effective Executive and Stakeholder management
- Budget management
The successful candidate will be a qualified Finance Executive with previous experience of operating in a number 1 finance position within a regulated environment. We are looking for individuals with confidence, energy and drive, and someone that will put the needs of the overall business above their individual responsibilities.
Skills required include:
- Experience of working within the UK financial services sector
- Board Level experience within an SME or senior manager within a large organisation
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW) any additional qualifications (ACII / FCII) would be highly desirable
- Business Financial management and Operational management experience
- Strategic planning and implementation experience
- Experience of general staff management and managing teams to achieve regulatory outputs, procedures and measures
- Experience of Life Investment Fund Industries, mortgage, financial and prudential regulations would be advantageous
The ideal candidate will be based within commutable distance of Tenet's Leeds Head Office; however we would also consider applications from individuals willing to spend 2-3 days a week in Leeds and live further afield.
