Media Organisation is currently seeking a permanent Finance Manager to join their team. The successful candidate would ideally be Newly Qualified or 2-year PQE. Who is keen to work for a global company who is currently expanding. The Finance Manager would require excellent business partnering skills and able to work in a fast paced/dynamic environment. Media sector experience is advantageous however not essential.
Duties of the Finance Manager include:
- Be a conduit between Finance and non-finance departments, to ensure that there is a communication flow where problems and enquires can be raised and resolved.
- Deal with finance queries and follow through to resolution, ensuring all stakeholders are updated.
- Manage the finance team.
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as invoice processing, payments, and other transactions.
- Manage the payment process. ensure the efficiency of the payments function with prompt, accurate and timely payments to suppliers and freelancers.
- Prioritize and plan workloads to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
- Develop appropriate controls over the end-to-end AP process.
- Build and drive forward effective relationships and networks inside and outside of the business.
- Work closely with various departments to address finance requirements.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis against budgets, investigate key variances with budget holders and agree actions to reduce unfavourable variances.
- Proactively work with non-financial managers to help them ‘own their numbers’.
- Partner with relevant senior business leaders with the provision of high quality, timely and insightful information
- Be an influential member of the organisation, developing strong links with managers across the business.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist the FD with month end close.
- Work closely with the FD to deliver process improvements and efficiencies within the department.
- Support the annual audit process.
- Continually look to improve finance processes.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests.
Skills & Qualifications required for the Finance Manager position:
- Newly qualified accountant preferable.
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience managing/supervising at least one member of staff required.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence working with colleagues and suppliers essential.
- Relationship & people management ability, networking & creative problem solving.
- Professionalism and integrity are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability of working to a high standard while multi-tasking.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of process change leading to improvements in quality and levels of service.
- Demonstrated experience in successful team leadership or management.
- Familiarity with finance software.
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Great knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly excel and excel functions.
- Knowledge of accounting practices.
- Ability to follow and implement company policies, processes, and procedures.
