Internal Audit & Risk Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are proud to be supporting a leading & innovative business based in the Rotherham area as they look to recruit an Internal Audit & Risk Accountant to be part of their well establish internal audit team.

My client is looking for an enthusiastic & ambitious individual; either a recent graduate or someone that already has internal audit experience from an existing role, and importantly be able to work effectively within a small team and interact with a range of key business stakeholders and colleagues.

Key duties & responsibilities:

* Complete scheduled site reviews to identify any areas of control strength or weakness
* Make recommendations to senior management team to improve overall control environment
* Analyse audit results to determine methods for increasing profits and decreasing unnecessary costs
* Present summarised findings concerning audit results and trends
* On-going and continuous reporting regarding accounts and procedures
* Create, input and maintain a database of identified risk issues to help monitor and highlight key areas of progress, risks and trends
* Review Group Policies and Procedure on an ongoing basis
* Travelling to different sites to meet relevant staff and obtain documents and information whilst auditing accounting procedures
* Preparing reports to highlight issues and problems and distributing the reports to the relevant people
* Assessing how well the business is complying to rules and regulations and informing management of any issues that need addressing

We are keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and experiences:

* Excellent numerical and communication skills
* Ability to work under their own initiative albeit with appropriate coaching and support
* A strong analytical mind, coupled with a "common sense approach" to issues
* The ability to produce good written report contributions
* An understanding of the key risks and issues facing the industry
