Financial Accountant
Oxford

Financial Accountant required for innovative battery company developing high performance batteries for the market. The business is looking to recruit an individual to assume a significant level of responsibility within a small finance team, with influence across the broader business.

The role will require the individual to be comfortable covering both financial and management accounting activities.

Key components of role

  • Responsibility for maintaining the fixed asset register, including month end depreciation postings according to department, cost centre and/or project
  • Work with the plant manager and maintenance teams to cost maintenance and tooling programmes for individual facilities, and to oversee the time recordings of operations within different facilities and report on the utilisation rates and other KPIs relevant to the performance of individual facilities
  • Processing of time bookings by activity and facility including associated overheads (dependent on the project)
  • Creation and management of monthly rate cards across facilities and projects
  • Work with the plant manager to oversee the reporting on various properties, including maintenance programmes, lease recognitions, energy and other utility usage across properties.
  • Work closely with the warehouse manager to ensure accurate reporting of inventory, including amending and overseeing stock management policies (counts, sampling, etc)
  • Oversee the management of the business’ various loans and asset leases, including security, covenants and recognition under IFRS.
  • Hold responsibility for reconciling other ledgers with balance sheet within the group, including capitalisation of development costs.
  • Responsible for other ad hoc month end processes in conjunction with the accounts assistant.

Requirements

  • SAGE 200 experience preferred
  • Part or fully qualified accountant
  • Some exposure to IFRS accounting
  • Proven ability to work in a business using multiple cost collectors (projects, departments and cost centres)
  • Part or full-time applications considered
