Tax Accountant

A new opportunity to join a global manufacturing site based near Sunderland. Recent restructuring to align the Finance Department with the ever-changing European area, coupled with internal promotions, has created this outstanding opportunity at an exciting time of change.
Working closely with the sites heads of department and the FD this role will involve:
*Responsibility for the UK VAT obligations
*Supporting the UK Tax manager in all areas of UK Taxation
*Covering multiple entities of the business
*Internal and external VAT compliance and reporting including the preparation of periodic VAT returns
*Preparation of claims and VAT return to overseas tax authorities
*Recovery of overseas VAT
*Managing all VAT queries
*Providing solution orientated advice across the group
*Implementing tax planning opportunities in line with the company strategy
*Ensure compliance with all tax legislation
*Maintaining the company's relationship with HMRC
*Providing support for the preparation of corporation tax computations and management accounts tax provisions

Ideally you will have:

*Either a Chartered Tax Advisor or Chartered Accountant with a key area of expertise being VAT
*Experience of working within a multinational OEM or high-volume production who supply internationally
*Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

This role would also suit someone who has worked for a large tax authority who deals with large business. A reputable professional accounting or advisory practice or large service company may also be considered.
