Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Finance Manager with the 111 and Integrated Urgent Care Division. The finance department of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team member who feels confident in working independently and as a member of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Your new role

The candidate should have had experience of managing large scale, complex or contentious business area finances in a complex demanding and changing environment. They should be able to demonstrate analytical ability and credibility and commercial awareness across all aspects of financial management with an ability to think creatively and to find solutions to urgent and intractable problems in order to provide strategic and tactical advice to stakeholders. This is a new role; the role is pivotal in building the relationships at all levels with the Division by providing expert operational and strategic advice on all financial issues. The postholder will be required to produce and interpret complex information for internal and external scrutiny. Working within the finance team, the post holder will support budget holders across a wide range of financial services including regular financial monitoring, business case development and production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. In addition, the candidate will support development of commercial value proposals and ensure opportunities are optimised and provide financial information to inform operational and strategic decision making.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant with CCAB qualified or equivalent with considerable financial/commercial experience. You will use your strong technical and influencing skills and sound understanding of the relevant business area to provide advice, challenge, and scrutiny to senior colleagues. Excellent IT skills and good communication skills are essential as it the ability to work to work to tight deadlines. If you have previous experience of making a difference, and have significant finance experience, and are looking for your next challenge, this could be the role for you.
