Client Details

Our client is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions. They offer careers that provide endless opportunity - helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

Description

This is a great opportunity to showcase your skillsets as you help analyse credit risk across the portfolio, understanding the trends in risk, customer behaviours and the reasoning behind them. It's a great time to join their expanding team.

Using insight to find ways to optimise their Existing Customer Management programmes and customer treatment, to improve their portfolio's risk profile and their returns
*Investigating their exposure to different kinds of credit risk, and their resilience in times of market stress, and proposing frameworks and/or activities to manage these
* Helping develop analytical ways to identify, understand, and manage credit risk on the portfolio
* Formulating policy and strategy for the UK card portfolio - both in setting and reviewing risk "guardrails" and "decision frameworks" and directly proposing changes to strategy
* Understanding and engaging with the customers' needs
* Working with change management, commercial, financial and operational teams to make decisions that are best for both their customers and the company.

Profile

What we're looking for:
* Experience working with databases (e. via SQL or SAS) and using SAS for data analysis and mining tools on large datasets
* Effectivity in using Excel to quickly and accurately analyse results (e. familiarity with most of the following: pivot tables, conditional formatting, inbuilt function, array formulae)
* Solid grasp of statistical techniques
* Ability to identify key numerical concepts relating to consumer lending, formulating them into simultaneous equations and then solving them

Skills that will help you in the role:
* Effectivity in communicating within your peer-group and upwards (e. summarising the results of your analysis succinctly to senior stakeholders and peers)
* Advanced mathematical and statistical skills; familiarity with neural network models, "deep learning", stochastic models, tree networks, etc
* Being enthusiastic and effective; turning your insight into action
* Functional understanding of how a consumer lending product functions and how the key parts of its P&L might interact.
