Financial Controller

A growing design and production group is seeking to hire a newly created Management Accountant to take ownership of the management accounts production with particular emphasis on revenue, commercial project analysis, forecasting and budget control. The key accountabilities will be:

• Produce Management Accounts for review by the Finance Director
• Develop, produce and issue regular, meaningful Revenue and margin reports
• Attend weekly revenue meetings to review variances and contra charges
• Manage Revenue Recognition to calculate Monthly Gross Margin
• Oversee debtor management, working with the Assistant Accountant to maximise collections
• Develop reporting to monitor debtor days more accurately
• Maintain and publish cost reports monthly
• Revenue and Cost forecasting, producing Project Cash Flows
• Assisting with statutory accounts, audit and tax work

The role will suit a qualified (or QBE) accountant with relevant experience within the design, construction or a project related business. Exposure to taking ownership of the monthly management accounts process is essential with a decisive, adaptable, but not dogmatic approach. You will be task focussed, a starter-finisher and the ability to deliver timely, high quality accurate information. It is small team and so you will need to be a good team player, willing to carry out all levels of the monthly accounting processes but with the commercial aptitude to understand the broader picture of business operations beyond finance.
