Financial Accountant, Heathrow, 6month FTC, c£55k

Brilliant opportunity for an Immediately Available, Qualified Accountant to take on a 6month FTC with a multi-billion-dollar logistics business. With 3 direct reports you will be Responsible for reporting, assisting in the preparation of the group and local statutory accounts, managing the Credit Control function and Accounts Assistant alongside assisting in monthly and quarterly reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director
• Timely and accurate production of month end and quarter end accounts to Head Office
• Monthly control and reconciliation of fixed assets for the organisation
• Monthly control and accounting for leased assets
• Assist in other month end and quarter end close processes as required
• Preparation and reconciliation of monthly VAT returns and submission to HMRC
• Preparation of statutory accounts
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
• Liaise with UK Head of Tax to provide tax Analysis as required
• Regular ongoing management of investments alongside Financial Controller
• Document standard operating procedures for key tasks performed in the role
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls, processes and procedures
• Implement changes in procedures to ensure best practice is maintained across the department

Requirements:

• Immediately Available (max 1 week notice)
• Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• 2 years post qualified experience in a professional accounting role
• Knowledge of finance systems, particularly Open Accounts
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Technical accounting knowledge
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• Flexible attitude to get involved in further, and ad hoc, activities in a fast-growing business
