Cost Accountant £45,000 - £55,000 Telford

Your new company
Hays are partnering with a successful and growing business in Telford who are looking to appoint a Cost Accountant on a permanent basis due to growth. Your role would be to provide a robust reporting of the manufacturing element of the accounting function as well as to provide analysis and commentary of key manufacturing variances.


Your new role
As a Cost Accountant within this business your duties would include:

*Review monthly manufacturing variances in detail and provide commentary on major deviations
*Monitor and report on Business Unit Fixed Cost deviations
*Preparation of effective forecast models
*Responsible for Fixed Asset reporting and variances vs budget
*Responsible for the overall preparation of budgeted standard product costs
*Support local management and sales teams with product cost analysis
*Assist in maintaining working capital efficiency through effective management of slow moving and obsolete inventory levels
*Liaison with other operating managers re. results, countermeasures
*Management and supervision of Business Accounting team
*Conduct annual appraisals of direct reports
*Ensure staff are trained in line with needs and requirements of the business
*Provide cover in area of responsibility in case of absence
*Assist in the annual external audit
*Liaison/discussion with external and internal auditors
*Development of finance systems used within the business
*Key user of all finance systems used within the business
*Influence Reporting methodology
*Participation in group Finance projects
*Carry out any reasonable task requested by management.
