Hays are delighted to be supporting a large, multinational organisation with the recruitment of a permanent Commercial Finance Business Support role in Droitwich.

In the UK, this company develops and manufactures a wide range of products within the FMCG industry and is ranked in the Top 10 of Britain's biggest brands.

Your new role
Reporting into a Commercial Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial support to the commercial sales team providing financial analysis and guidance as well as challenging current and future performance.

Main duties:

• Have a detailed understanding of the underlying monthly performance
• Investigate variances in customer volumes and profitability
• Support with the budgeting and forecasting process
• Co-ordinate the monthly reporting and forecasting cycle
• Consolidation of financial data from all systems into accurate and relevant information
• Challenging and influencing the sales team
• Work with the Commercial Business Partners to identify and integrate improvements around the accuracy and speed of reporting
• Seek to identify and implement improvements in the commercial review process
• Provide insight into customer performance and challenge the commercial team
• Review, assess and where appropriate sign off the month-end accruals for each customer

What you'll need to succeed

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) actively working towards full qualification
• Good understanding of core accounting principles (P&L, balance sheet etc.)
• Strong commercial skills and previous experience of communicating with non-finance staff
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Problem-solver with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
• Working knowledge of accounting packages (SAP an advantage)
