Description

As Technical Accountant (Hedge Accounting), you will act as a subject matter expert, delivering insight on financial performance, working closely with the wider finance team. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare the micro and macro hedge accounting journals on a monthly basis
  • Offer ad hoc technical support to wider finance team and business
  • Develop and manage key relationships with both internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication with SLT and senior stakeholders
  • External statutory reporting
  • Liaison with external auditors
  • Finance controls and mandates
  • Finance advisory and awareness - including technical updates
  • Technical queries relating to hedge accounting
  • Maintenance and development of effective processes and systems
  • Delivering key insight on technical accounting areas to wider finance team and business

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and external reporting requirements
  • Prior experience in financial services/insurance based businesses (desirable)
  • Highly numerate and capable of interpreting technical information
  • Well organised with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills - confident working with wider team and key stakeholders in the business
  • Driven and motivated to progress
  • Proactive and keen to make improvements and positive change
