M&A Director

Our Client

We have been retained by our client on a unique opportunity to appoint an M&A Director to play an integral role in their buy-and-build strategy.  Having secured investment from a well-known North West Private Equity fund in 2016, our client has enjoyed both organic and acquisitive growth, which has led to them becoming the 3^rd largest group of its kind in the UK.  With sites spanning across the North West, South, and the Midlands, the Group is targeting further national expansion, as well as the potential to explore international opportunities within the US.  To support the Board in delivering their growth aspirations and underpin the strategy to achieve £100m revenue within the next 3 years, plans are in place to secure further Private Equity investment by the end of 2021, providing this individual with equity participation.

The Requirement

My client requires a people-centric finance professional to join their Senior Leadership Team.  Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the M&A Director is responsible for leading all M&A activity for the Group and   ensuring that all M&A decisions are robustly challenged and financially viable.  This role requires a high level of interaction with potential targets, ensuring the experience is positive, continuously reinforcing the value proposition and actively leading all facets of deal negotiations.  This role will be expected to build a robust pipeline of qualified M&A and tender opportunities across geographical focus areas.  Responsibilities will also include leading client meetings and pitches; providing strategic advice and proposals.  The M&A Director will also prepare and review financial models to support and challenge potential targets.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly driven, ACA qualified Accountant with a successful track record in either M&A, Corporate Finance or Transaction Services; experience leading a buy-&-build transaction would be beneficial.  We are looking for a proactive individual, a confident and engaging character who is influential in a broad range of situations with the flexibility to adjust their style to build credibility.
