Financial Accountant/Finance Manager

Financial Accountant to join small/medium charity in Central London - managing one person, leading on audit.

Your new company:
£6m income charity whose income comes primarily from government contracts and grants. The organisation has a finance team of 5 people and the office is based in Central London. This is a friendly organisation and the small team environment offers an opportunity to get involved in all areas of finance.

Your new role:

The post holder will prepare the draft year end statutory Financial Statements and ensure the implementation of proper internal controls, achieving the organisational targets. The post holder will also assist the Director of Finance with ad-hoc finance queries in matters relating to Payroll, VAT and Gift Aid claims submission to HMRC.

The post-holder will also be responsible for day-to-day management of the charity financial records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuing compliance with regulations, analysing financial data, monitor expenditure, coordinating the external audit processes and ensuring the accuracy of financial information.

Responsibilities will include overseeing of purchase and sales ledgers of both Living Streets and its trading subsidiary Living Streets Services, performing weekly bank reconciliations, monthly control accounts and supporting budget holders with management accounts queries and budget.

You will have responsibility for managing one Finance Assistant who will support you in your work.

It is an exciting time for the organisation with potential new contracts in the pipeline from a number of government departments and a planned systems upgrade in the works.


What you'll need to succeed:

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified ACCA or ACA with experience of staff management and leading (or very involved) in the preparation of the financial statements and external audit
