The Opportunity

Are you a Management Accountant looking to step away from the ‘transactional grind’ and into a truly business facing role as a key finance partner?

This role would suit someone recently qualified looking to continue the upward trajectory of their career.  You’ll enjoy working for a group that can offer unrivalled career progression with opportunities for you to step into a more senior finance role in the UK or overseas in the next 2 – 3 years.  

You will be responsible for elements of the weekly and monthly management accounts prep / review, flash reporting and commercial analysis but a large weighting of the role surrounds business partnering. 

You’ll be a key financial sounding board / critical friend / finance business partner to colleagues in non finance areas (commercial and operational functions of the group). 

You will communicate and highlight key variances, trends, opportunities and risks and have a natural ability to give true meaning, insight and credibility to the reporting packs. 

It’s a chance to really make a difference and impact key decision making in a very progressive and expanding PLC. 

You’ll have support from a highly approachable and talented head of commercial finance but also the autonomy to shape processes, controls and reporting as you see fit.

You’ll need:

• Communication skills!! This is key – whilst the role requires a firm foundation of management accounting and reporting skills success will be determined by your ability to business partner. 
• Excellent analytical experience and high degree of confidence using excel (pivots / lookups etc).
• CIMA / ACCA qualification completed 
• Experience of a management accounting or commercial accounting role in a retail or manufacturing environment where numbers are reviewed daily / weekly rather than reported monthly. 
• To be someone who enjoys a business where change is the norm and there is a constant strive to optimise efficiency and performance.
