Marks Sattin are working in partnership with a large FMCG organisation based in the Northampton region to recruit a Finance Business Partner
Our client is going through an exciting time of growth and as a result they require an additional Finance Business Partner to join the Commercial Finance team. The key objective of the Finance Business Partner is to drive performance and profitability through analysis, insight and business partnering.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key part in helping the business to understand key areas of financial focus such as customer profitability, margin analysis by customer and the cost effectiveness of the sites. Work with key stakeholders to recommend improvements and reduce costs
- Support strategic decision-making by providing high quality, accurate and timely business information. Be able to understand, think through, and communicate the implications of decisions on financial metrics, including the P&L and cash flow
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders through frequent communication and timely finance reviews
- Proactively support the business with forecasting, appropriate financial models and reports
- Be comfortable communicating well at all levels, and able to present viewpoint succinctly
- Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of financial and operational data and draw conclusions. Use findings to provide an appropriate level of objective challenge to stakeholders, including the identification of risks and opportunities
- Draw on the expertise of others to help interpret financial information and trends
- Understand the end to end process for each customer, from contract to invoicing. Be able to challenge and support operational stakeholders when measuring profitability and delivering accurate invoicing
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload, giving the flexibility to handle operational issues whilst still hitting finance deadlines
- Review period end reporting produced and present to required stakeholders in the context of the operational performance
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement change effectively within a continually changing environment
- Support in the development of others, and be able to coach and communicate finance data to non-finance colleagues
- Work with Finance and other teams to ensure new businesses are embedded into required reports and invoicing processes
Skills required:
- Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Analytical skills are essential to interpret complex operational data and financial models and to make recommendations to the business
- Experience working with non-finance stakeholders, with an excellent ability to build relationships, communicate and service stakeholders with their requirements
- Action orientated with 'roll up the sleeves' attitude
- Ability to hold yourself to account and take ownership
- As a finance representative working within the operations, be attentive and approachable to all
- Excellent presentation skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail
