Management Accountant
Based: Blackburn area
Salary: dependent on experience
Our client is a fantastic, expanding and well-established group of businesses based in Blackburn. A growing SME, they have recently acquired new businesses in the UK and having placed the Group Finance Manager a few years back, we are looking for an Accountant to sit as number 2 in finance, supporting wider finance as the business grows. This role will be working with both the Finance Director closely on all activity including month end, further acquisitions and supporting with month end including costings.
Role:
- Preparing management accounts each month
- Balance sheet reconciliations and submitting VAT returns
- Weekly flash reporting
- Management of KPI's to drive improvement, efficiencies and activity across 4 business within the group
- Supporting in producing budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Reviewing trends and developing insight to identify risks and opportunities
- Identifying and resolving issues and reporting back to the Group Finance Manager
- Accurate financial reporting on capital expenditure
- Implement significant improvements on the system, costings and speed of reporting
- Working with the Finance Director to deliver on wider group projects
Experience:
- Qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA Accountant OR strong QBE
- Enthusiastic, proactive and hands on
- Excellent communication skills and strong Excel skills
- Self-motivated and able to work to group deadlines
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements highly desirable
