Finance Manager

Accountancy Recruit is very proud to be working on behalf of a company that provide bookkeeping and management accounting outsourced services. I am recruiting for a Finance Manager to be based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, to join this dynamic and successful business at an auspicious time. You will be directly supporting the Director in a central client facing role. This is an integral position that will allow you to develop, take responsibility and deliver insightful financial reporting to a high-profile client base, with entrepreneurial ambitions in the high-end hospitality sector.

Duties will include:

• Developing strong professional working relationships with clients through a detailed understanding of each business.
• Managing a team responsible for client compliance.
• Allocation of work to the team to meet filing and reporting deadlines.
• Reviewing the team tasks (month end trail balance, bookkeeping, payroll) to ensure consistent delivery and providing hands on intervention where necessary.
• Preparation of year-end accounts for submission to accountants
• Review and prepare VAT returns, ensuring the appropriateness of available VAT schemes.
• Preparing management accounts, financial statements, profit & loss, balance sheet month end reconciliations other ad-hoc reports for multiple clients using Sage 50, Paperless and Excel.
• These are prepared on a 4,4 5 basis or 13 x 4-week periods.
• Month end accruals and prepayments: holidays accruals, income accruals.
• Monthly and weekly labour journals.
• Maintenance of the fixed asset registers and calculation of depreciation.
• Checking cash and credit card controls.
• Checking PAYE controls, Net Pay and Intercompany controls
• Checking supplier ledgers and missing invoices.
• Reviewing and making furlough claims
• Reviewing and preparing VAT returns.
• Reviewing and preparation of cashflows reports.
• Working with the Director in the identification of client project opportunities.
• Developing and enhancing strategies to improve the smooth running of the business.

You will be from an Accountancy Practice background or general industry; you may already be fully qualified in ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or AAT (or equivalent), QBE or you may be actively studying, but most importantly you will demonstrate a desire to forge successful business relationships based on your expertise in accountancy and commercial acumen.
