Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading professional services business in Glasgow as they recruit for a Financial Accounting Manager on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent salary and package between £45,000 - £47,000 per annum alongside an excellent benefits package with flexible and remote working options on offer.
The Financial Accounting manager will join a fast paced technical accounting environment where you will oversee the running of a small team of 4 Accountants. This is an excellent organisation to develop your career with a variety of exposure across systems, projects and people alongside leading from the front on financial reporting obligations.
Your new role
The Financial reporting manager will deliver month end reporting and statutory reporting, interpreting financial policies, implementing best practice and maintaining close relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is a leadership role where you will develop relationships internally and externally, supporting the team of 4 and leading on best practice where necessary. You will manage the year-end process, support changes in accounting standards and facilitate process improvements across the financial reporting environment.
This is a varied role where you will gain visibility across the organisation and participate in value added activities across financial reporting. You will Identify, design, develop and implement process, technology and business change improvements and lead the creation, update and approval of procedures, work instructions and documented controls that deliver financial and process benefits to stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant with strong financial accounting and reporting experience gained across your career. You will have the ability to identify control weaknesses, support process improvements and develop relationships with ease to add value. You will have strong influencing skills and leadership skills to develop staff and enhance performance. Additionally a Strong technical ability and proven track record with IFRS would be preferred.
