Elevation Recruitment Group are working in exclusive partnership with a successful food manufacturing company based in Scarborough to recruit a Payroll Manager into their team on a Fixed term contract of 12 months. This is a very varied role and will include reviewing and updating current payroll processes as well as the full end to end responsibility for implementing a new payroll system.

Reporting into the People Director; the successful candidate will have direct responsibility for a small payroll team, leading and developing them through the business transformation. The role is based in their office 2/3 days per week, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days.

Responsibilities will include:

- Full end-to-end implementation of a new payroll system alongside, including the final decision of payroll solution
- Design and implement robust and simple payroll processes ensuring the business is legally compliant, maximising system functionality, and making the operation as simple as possible
- Serving as the primary point of contact between internal teams and payroll vendors
- Upskilling and developing the payroll team
- Ensuring future payroll compliance
- Putting in place robust, simple, and efficient payroll processes maximising the functionality of the new payroll system
- Supporting the payroll team manage a large weekly payroll (c. 1500 colleagues)

The successful candidate will have:

- Extensive knowledge and experience within Payroll
- Experience of implementing payroll systems and maximising functionality
- Extensive experience of implementing and improving payroll processes
- Experience of successfully delivering payroll transformation comparable scaled business
- Knowledge of all aspects of HMRC legislation, in relation to payroll and knowledge of pension legislation (WPAE)
- Have an understanding of Real-Time Information (RTI) and strong Excel skills
- Strong stakeholder and people management experience
- Ability to communicate with clarity and impact
- A keen eye for detail and strong numeracy skills
