Finance Director - Owner Managed Business - Wakefield

THE COMPANY

Brewster Partners are supporting an innovative and forward thinking, owner-managed wholesale / distribution business in the Wakefield area in their search for a Finance Director.

With an annual turnover of ca. £30m, the business boasts an extremely strong balance sheet with year on year growth in both turnover and profitability, presenting an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to make a significant impact and maximise the potential of the business.

The Finance Director will be required to be both 'hands on' and strategic, supporting the CEO with growth and development opportunities, as well as ensuring the finances are managed efficiently and accurately.

THE JOB

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Working closely with the CEO and Board on a number of commercial strategies relating to business growth and return on investment
• Manage a large overseas network of suppliers and all associated import, VAT, duty, logistics matters etc.
• Allocation of complex rebate arrangements
• Agreement of individual customer trading and pricing agreements
• Ownership of monthly management reporting packs
• Liaison with external advisors including lawyers, banks, insurers etc.
• Company secretarial duties
• Detailed analysis of margins and commercial implications of prices structures and changes
• Leadership of the finance department

THE CANDIDATE:

This is an ideal role for an ambitious Finance Director who is looking to be a part of a successful, expanding business.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with significant financial leadership experience
• Preferably experience in an owner managed business of a similar size (£20-£50m turnover)
• Experience within the wholesale / distribution sector preferred
• Experience dealing with overseas suppliers would be preferred
