Now, they are looking to appoint a Finance Team Leader to join them on a part-time basis in Sheffield.

This is a great opportunity for an ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACA qualified accountant, with a track record of achievement and experience as a team leader, to join our client’s organisation in a newly created role and lead our finance function.

 In this important role, you will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure our client’s finance strategy is effective and delivers great results.

The Role

As the Finance Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing day-day leadership to the Finance Team and overseeing the delivery of all aspects of financial management.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will ensure the effective delivery of all aspects of financial reporting including management accounting, statutory accounting, budgeting and financial planning. You will also ensure our client and it’s Pension Scheme is managed efficiently.

Using your excellent leadership skills, you will manage, develop and train the Finance Team and support their personal and professional development.

Additionally, you will:

- Produce monthly management accounts with commentary on key variances
- Provide information to auditors in preparation of the annual statutory accounts and work with them to ensure an effective audit process
- Submit financial monitoring information required by grant funding bodies accurately and on time
- Work with the COO to initiate and manage the annual budget process and develop a wider financial strategy
- Support the Chief Operating Officer in ensuring compliance with all financial, charity and company legislation
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Managers to develop, maintain and understand financial management information
- Ensure effective procedures are in place to manage the accounting of associated charities our client supports

About You

To join us as a Finance Team Leader, you will need:

- A professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/ACA)

- Experience of leading and developing a finance team
- A breadth of practical experience of financial reporting and financial management
- High level of knowledge and awareness of internal controls and compliance with internal and external regulations/legislation
- Excellent knowledge of Charity Accounting Regulations
- Experience of working in a medium/large organisation, supporting managers across different teams and dispersed geographic locations and working with complex systems and data
- Strong financial accounting skills, including preparation of year-end financial statements in a medium or large organisation
- Good understanding of Charity Law

- Excellent Excel skills and confident user of MS office
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

This is a part-time position working between 18.75 hours to 30 hours (0.5 – 0.8 FTE) per week. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday.
