We are currently working with a thriving engineering business based in Leeds who have a rare opportunity for a driven Assistant Management Accountant to support and drive performance across all aspects of month end and management account preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the Senior Finance Manager and carry out all financial functions associated with the effective administration of daily operation and services of the Management accounts
* Production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations to agreed deadlines and SLA's
* Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers as part of the Financial Services function
* Providing key support to the business
* Providing support to other areas of Management accounts including adhoc work and various monthly tasks
* Liaising with the Business Finance teams to ensure the accurate and timely production of management information
* Responsibility for all balance sheet account reconciliations
* Following up of reconciling items and resolution of these in a timely manner
* Providing a monthly summary to the Senior Finance Manager of risks and opportunities identified during the balance sheet review process
* Proactively ensuring that a 'joined-up' approach is followed and using the reconciliation process to identify weaknesses in processes and following these up with their colleagues around the business to continuously drive improvement and efficiency
* Providing ad-hoc information and reports to internal customers
* Audit & various project work

To be successful for this role you MUST have the following attributes:-

* Newly/ nearly qualified accountant or extensive experience working in a Management Accounts environment.
* Experience of working within a Management Accounts environment
* Experience of working within a busy finance department
* A detailed understanding of Financial Systems is essential
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Good working knowledge of MS office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook
