Newly-created Finance Analyst opportunity with one of the North West’s fastest-growing, PE-backed businesses based in Chester.

In this new role as Finance Process and Reporting Analyst, you will be passionate about analysis, with a high attention to detail and the ability to think outside of the box. You will enjoy working within a fast-paced, changing environment, and being involved in projects that have a real business impact.

The role requires the creation and delivery of bespoke reports and analysis, created around the requirements and briefs provided by members of both the Operational and Commercial finance teams. The delivery of OKRs is the key to success in this challenging and financially focused role.

As Finance Analyst, you will have the following key skills:


Essential Experience:
• Ability to manipulate data using SQL
• Understanding of financial terms, financial information and previous exposure to finance teams.
• Strong commercial knowledge of Data Visualisation tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik)
• Data-driven mind set.
• Knowledge of business workings & processes.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to prioritise tasks and self-motivate.
• Ability and desire to work in a target driven environment.
• Enthusiastic with a “can-do” attitude.
• Passion and willingness to improve knowledge through self-study.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Desirable Experience:
• Project management skills
• Experience of working with Tableau
• Part Qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or QBE Accountant

 
Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Financial Change and Development Manager, this analytical role will be highly autonomous and focused heavily on preparing information required by and essential to the Finance Teams.

You will be responsible for the following areas of accountability:
• Working with stakeholders to construct / improve models which provide data and solutions for the Finance functions
• Producing reports and dashboards based on analysis to display findings, track performance and satisfy statutory and / or regulatory reporting
• Generating complex reports on demand for Finance team members
• Use abstract thinking and problem-solving skills to identify potential commercial opportunities and pinpoint problems
• Report on historical facts and KPIs
• Identify new ways of looking at the data, or problems, and present the approach and output
• Help to shape the direction and alignment of analytics across the Finance functions
