A leading education establishment based in Leeds needs an Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6 month Fixed Term Contract, starting asap in July 2021.

The role will report into the Director of Finance and will initially focus on leading the year end process and liaising with auditors.

Other responsibilities will include:
*To maintain and develop the group financial regulations, policies and procedures so that they fulfil statutory and regulatory obligations
*Overseeing compliance with the internal control framework: to ensure that all income and expenditure - capital and revenue - is properly controlled with the provision of appropriate professional advice
*To be the lead risk management officer and the lead officer for financial transaction processing
*To manage the operation of financial systems to ensure there is effective control over the group's assets and liabilities, which includes general ledger, sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash receipts and payments, bank accounts, debt recovery and credit control, and the payroll interface
*To prepare the Annual Report and Financial Statements
*To be responsible for all tax arrangements for the group; prepare VAT and Corporation Tax returns on behalf of the Corporation and its trading subsidiaries
*Manage teams of the Payroll and Financial Accounts.

To be considered you must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and have a proven record of delivering a successful statutory accounts process, ideally but not essentially, within a public sector or charity sector.
