Finance Manager – 12 Month FTC

Aila is excited to announce that we’re in an exclusive partnership with an interesting and unique business in Stevenage on the recruitment of a Finance Manager for an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract, with a realistic view of it going permanent after.
 
We are recruiting for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Finance Manager with experience in both management and statutory accounting in an all-round finance capacity.
 
This role will directly support the CFO and take control of all management accounting and stakeholder management, leading business review meetings and preparing the management accounts for the whole company, whilst collaborating with other finance team members and getting involved in process improvement work and system improvements.
 
You will be a hands on and qualified Management Accountant that is comfortable stepping into a Finance Manager role, or somebody already operating at this level and looking to join a business that has an interesting history and exciting and stable future.

the role covers a wide range of standard accounting process - working closely with the Business Development, Leasing and Operations teams. It is a role with responsibility for supporting the accurate and timely processing of a range of daily accounting and project activities, including transformation of key processes and systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Monthly management accounts and reporting – development of Cloud MA Dashboard
  • Coordination/approval of capital proposals
  • Liaison with Operations Director on progress of capex and to ensure accurate recording of equipment
  • Maintenance of fixed asset database - capitalisation, disposals and asset transfers/moves
  • Oversight and support on financial accounting processes and systems
  • Matching supplier invoices against POs and tracking cumulative values
  • Processing supplier invoices for approval
  • Coding and allocation of invoices to Sage; to include identification of invoices against capital projects, fixed asset additions, building projects, business development projects, etc
  • VAT reconciliation and processing quarterly return
  • Using our Operations management system, quarterly and monthly invoicing/invoicing external companies for events
  • Monthly bank and credit card reconciliation
  • Petty cash reconciliation
  • Systemisation and automating of processes where possible
  • Preparation and updating of financial process and control documents
  • Development of management reporting
  • Support on Budgeting and Forecast process
  • Lead planning and preparation of year end accounts and associated audit
  • Ad hoc work as required
 
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant with previous experience in a hands-on Management Accountant or Finance Manager position and be attentive and personable to fit into a small team effectively. You will naturally have good Excel skills and be a clear and concise communicator.
