Due to further growth and some recent internal changes to the way they complete their financial reporting, it has created a varied and interesting role within their Group Financial Reporting team for an Assistant Controller.

This role is responsible for managing and supporting the financial reporting process for the group, ensuring compliance within reporting guidelines and preparation of Financial reporting disclosures. The position holder will play a key role in improvement of policies and processes across the business to strengthen the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and will act as expert and go to person for financial reporting policies and guidelines, in particular for accounting standards.

The role will suit either an experienced first time mover with strong technical skills or a 2nd time mover from practice looking to work for a large and successful organisation. You will thrive on engineering solutions to business reporting requirements and consistently look for ways to improve the quality of reports and the reporting function.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:-

*Responsible for planning and managing reporting in line with: Revenue (Recognition of Revenue, Gross and Net revenue reporting, Segmental reporting) and Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and disclosures
*Planning and Implementing of new policies and guidelines and/or continuous improvement of exiting processes and guidelines
*Responsible for ensuring compliance with financial policies; Documentation and guidance, providing greater clarity and detail in the testing of controls as well as identifying areas of high risk
*Manage, coach and develop trainee accountants who will assist in testing and auditing processes
*Managing and communicating consistent application of policies
*Managing and supporting the Finance team in all aspects of revenue recognition accounting and financial reporting
*To alert the Financial Reporting Manager with regards to any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, and problems whether actual or potential concerning the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial reporting

This is a hands on role, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, leaders and departments across the entire business.

To be successful for this role you MUST have the following skills:

*ACA or ACCA Qualified
*Ideally a first or second time mover from practice
*Proven analytical and problem solving skills
*Have the ability to lead and manage others
*Strong technical accounting skills
*Strong communication and presentation skills
*Accuracy and timeliness in reporting
*Ability to identify and implement process improvements and changes
*Excellent attention to detail
*Organisational and planning skills
