Part Time Practice Accountant - Southampton

Part time experienced practice accountant job with small growing firm in Southampton

You will be working for a small friendly accountancy practice based on the east side of Southampton.

Reporting directly to the owner of the business, you will be involved in a variety of general practice work including client management and dealing with client queries, preparing statutory accounts and tax computations/returns, client engagement letters and overseeing/reviewing the work of trainees/juniors.
The firm uses Xero for bookkeeping and accounts work and you may also be required to be involved in this type of work as well.

The client base is very mixed and includes sole traders and companies such as builders, construction companies, developers, rentals, hairdressers etc, with turnovers ranging from £10,000 to £6M.
You will be responsible for the office in the absence of the business owner.

It is essential that you have substantial up to date experience of working in accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to managing a client portfolio and junior staff. You will need to have a flexible approach a be happy to role up your sleeves and "muck in" as required.

This is a part-time role and the hours worked can be flexible according to your requirements, but will probably total around 20 hours a week initially. This can include either 2-3 full days or shorter days around school hours if required.
