Axon Moore are exclusively partnering with a well-known manufacturing business based in North Manchester. My client is looking to recruit a Financial Controller. The company has experienced significant sustained revenue growth with output rising from sub £50million to circa £100million during the last 5 years is still enjoying continued growth. They are looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller to join the team, reporting into the Group Finance Director. This Controller position will be working very closely to senior stakeholders and will an operational role focusing on driving the numbers.
Job title – Financial Controller (Manufacturing)
Salary – £65,000 - £75,000 per annum + bonus + benefits
The Role
The role reports to the Finance Director with key responsibilities in all aspects of financial management including corporate reporting, annual statutory reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal policies and procedures. The role will have a strong commercial bias focusing on supporting the management team in ensuring that the business delivers profitable growth in line with our strategic initiatives. Strong communication, time management and organisational skills are a must.

Main Duties
- Manage accounting operations including financial accounting, AP, AR, Treasury and Tax across ten legal entities (including liaising with our Shared Service Operation and external partners).
- Manage the month end process to deliver timely and accurate internal reports, include variance analysis.
- Keep up to date with technical compliance issues.
- Manage the completion of timely and accurate tax and other statutory returns.
- Develop business processes, accounting policies and testing plans to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage the completion of the annual statutory accounts.
- Support working capital improvement initiatives including supply chain financing.
- Assist with SAP enhancements across European subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with the Group policies and the Group Code of conduct.
- Develop local reporting to improve decision making (using Power BI).
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
- 2 years’ experience within a similar role – ideally within a manufacturing industry.
- Must have previously held a title of Financial Controller or similar position.
- Integrated ERP system- preferably SAP.
- Competent in using MS Office suite
- Be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a 'can do’ attitude.
- Flexible and able to work on a variety of ad hoc projects.
- Strong organisational skills
- Highly competent in using MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel
