Financial Reporting Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a large and continually growing business in Sheffield who are looking to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant on a permanent basis.

This role will be based in Sheffield and will be working in a team of 4 who operate a hybrid working style, working 2-3 days in the Sheffield office and the remainder of the week from home, depending on the needs of the business and team throughout the financial year.

You will work as part of the Finance Reporting Team - responsible for reporting all financial results, budgeting and forecasting alongside responsibility for managing and supporting the financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX and reporting guidelines and preparation of Financial reporting disclosures.

The position holder will play a key role in supporting the drive to improve policies and processes to strengthen the financial reporting - whilst also being an active member of the team working on improvement and change management projects including providing support for existing activities around financial reporting, migration of data to the new system, implementing processes, ensuring accuracy and integrity of information.

Ideally you will be keen to operate in a fast-paced and challenging environment and demonstrate the ability to provide an active challenge to the business.

Main duties and responsibilities:

*Planning and managing reporting in line with US GAAP and meeting internal policies and SOX processes
*Revenue (Recognition of Revenue, Gross and Net revenue reporting, Segmental reporting)
*Ongoing process improvement - develop and implement processes to support accurate and consistent financial reporting
*Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and disclosures for region
*Planning and Implementing of new policies and guidelines and/or continuous improvement of exiting processes and guidelines
*Improved documentation around SOX guidance and compliance
*Alignment and streamlining of processes
*Ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations and SOX requirements through managing the application of existing SOX processes and implementing/facilitating ongoing improvements:
*Supporting the wider Finance team in all aspects of revenue recognition accounting and financial reporting

*Ability to understand and take ownership of end-to-end financial processes, identifying opportunities to improve and drive change.
*Ability to analyse and interpret policies and guidelines and implement and communicate these effectively
