Internal Finance Manager ACCA CIMA ACMA for Southampton-based accountancy practice

You will be working in the internal finance team for a rapidly expanding firm of accountants in Southampton that specialises in International VAT, tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses which are located both internationally and in the UK.

Working closely with the FC/FD, key responsibilities will include Financial Reporting & Control and Management Reporting. This will include exercising control over the group's year-end audit process ensure it runs efficiently and in line with agreed timetables, preparation of the group's external financial reports on an annual basis for all UK statutory entities, prepare all balance sheet reconciliations for sign off by the Financial Controller, take ownership of the monthly and annual ledger close process and preparation and submission of Quarterly VAT returns. It will also include consolidating all subsidiary monthly management accounts and funding requirements (partners and overseas entities) and challenging territories results where necessary, weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting & reporting, responsibility for the management and maintenance of the group ledger, including all aspects of masterdata in SAGE, review and prepare the payment run on a fortnightly basis and manage and execute payroll and all payroll related HMRC requirements in conjunction with the Financial Controller.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or CIMA qualified with a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and concepts, strong technical accounting skills and experience with preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets. You will also need to have strong quantitative, problem-solving and communications skills, the ability to set priorities, multi-task, meet critical deadlines and pay attention to detail, as well as being highly organized and motivated, and a self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills.
