Our retained client is a highly successful privately owned civil engineering group that has built up a reputation of delivering first class infrastructure projects across the North of England. With high levels of ambition of further growth, the group can now demonstrate revenues now exceeding £80 million pa.  Highly profitable and operating as a tier 1 and tier 2 contractor the business has recognised the need for a high calibre Finance Director to support the board in executing businesses strategies and ensuring that finance delivers insightful information that will guide commercial and operational decision making.

Operating as the Managing Directors’ right hand person, the successful individual will take ownership of all aspects of financial control and business reporting whilst ensuring the appropriate level of challenge is given to operational and commercial functions to support margin maximisation. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Developing robust business forecasting tools and processes.
  • Management and development of the current finance department to ensure it meets the ongoing business needs.
  • Implementation of financial controls and processes fit for an ambitious growth oriented group.
  • Support Targeted M&A activities.
  • Supporting bid and tender processes.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely cash flow forecasting and that robust working capital management is at the heart of the business.

This superb role has been designed for a high calibre ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with preference given to an individual that can demonstrate practical experience working within a construction or civil engineering environment. You will also demonstrate experience in the design and delivery of strategic objectives and the ability to develop high quality collaborative relationships.
