A high growth financial services business based in Leeds are currently recruiting for an External Reporting Accountant on a minimum 9 month contract. You will play a key role within the finance team with responsibility for managing and producing the statutory financial information for the annual report and accounts, interim external trading updates and management of relationships with external auditors and advisors.



KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Manage and produce the consolidated Group Annual Report and Accounts to a high standard and within reporting deadlines
  • Manage and produce all subsidiary statutory accounts to a high standard within regulatory reporting deadlines
  • Deliver interim external reporting and trading updates as required
  • Manage relationships with external auditors for preparation and delivery of interim and year end audits covering all entities
  • Provide the wider Finance team and business with subject matter expertise on financial and corporate reporting requirements and accounting standards
  • Maintain Group accounting policies and monitor adherence. Maintain accounting judgement papers for internal governance and audit review
  • Maintenance of and adherence to key Finance process procedures, policies and controls
  • Provide support to Finance and business wide initiatives and objectives as required
  • Maintain the first line of Risk/Compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
  • Make informed risk decisions and effectively and credibly debate and challenge management recommendations within your role in line with the approved Risk Management Framework
  • Maintain the first line of defence by reviewing/supporting the risks and controls assigned to the department
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and associated risks that require managing

In order to be considered for the role it is essential that you have pre/post IPO experience. You must also be available to start on short notice. The role will be based in Leeds with a split of remote working from home.
